‘Louise has all the qualities of a great trainer. She was professional, personable, likeable, made you feel at ease, secure and able to ask and share anything for clarification. Her delivery was well paced especially with so much content to cover in a relatively short time. I would recommend her and the course without hesitation. The variety and experience within the class added to the whole experience. Thank you! ‘

“Louise Larkum was phenomenal! She was not only knowledgeable, but she was able to deliver the training in a respectable, friendly, and open hearted manner. She encouraged us to express our thoughts and reflect on our accounts. This helped to strengthen our learning and put knowledge into application. Louise is so friendly and with her smiles, she put the group engagement at ease! I would highly recommend this course not only for pharmacists but to other members of staff, and for general public. The empowerment and awareness will bring about new perspectives and self help. Thank you Louise – Yvonne”

Debriefs: MHFAider bolt on for in-house training.

Have you ever completed an amazing course, walked out euphoric and so excited to implement it all? Only to find, a month later, you can’t remember half the content let alone have put it into action.

We’re so passionate about the content of the MHFAider course that with MHFA England’s Mental Health First Aid training we offer FREE quarterly debriefs for the first year after training.

These valuable sessions review the MHFAider material, discuss good practice and difficult scenarios; allow group support and reflection. New links and updated information are also offered as part of the session.

Mindcare Training offers this as a way of consolidating learning and keeping the course content as an active set of skills – not a tick box exercise.

“After completing the MHFA course with Lou earlier this year, I have really welcomed the follow up debrief sessions.  I find these a time to catch up with fellow mental health first aiders and a chance for brainstorming and reflection.  Lou hosts these meetings superbly and brings in her expertise to give us guidance, support and new skills.  I find them invaluable!”

As a HR professional and Integrative Health Practitioner, I attended this course to gain deeper knowledge and expertise in how to support mental health & wellbeing. The course has been a hugely positive, empowering and insightful learning journey facilitated by a highly skilled, empathetic and emotionally intelligent facilitator. Louise conveys the subject matter in an engaging, relevant and sensitive way drawing experiences and insights from her own experience and the group to bring the learning alive. I really valued how Louise was able to hold space for the group members during discussions around emotive areas including supporting suicidal crisis and psychosis. I highly recommend MHFA training with Louise.

Louise is a great trainer and communicator. I have just completed MHFA training with her and feel that the skills and advice given will assist me in supporting someone better in a crisis, but has assisted me in being a better manager and more thoughtful human being.
